Splashdown is an activity weekend for Scouts and Explorers from across Sheffield – there will be about 500 camping for the two nights.Activities include canoeing, rafting, windsurfing, zorbing, archery, mountain biking, football, cricket and a disco on Saturday night. You can take part in as much or as little as you like! During the weekend we will also be entering our combined team into the Sheffield canoe regatta and competing in the annual raft race.

Transport:
You need to make your own way to and from Splashdown. When you get to Rother Valley the scout campsite is signposted – you will need to find our group amongst the tents.
Please meet at 7pm (not before) on the Friday at Rother Valley and arrange to be collected at 3pm on Sunday – although if the weather is good, we may stop in the sun till later! You also need to arrive in a scout or explorer polo-shirt or uniform with your necker on – otherwise Rother Valley will charge you to get into the park.

Cost:
The cost for the weekend is £40 which includes all meals and activities.
Cheques should be payable to “20th Sheffield Scout Group”.
How do I book?:
Book your place by returning the completed permission slip, and money, to your section leader by Saturday 19th June. Bookings must be complete – just the money or just a permission slip will not secure you a place.
Kit List:
Usual kit for a weekend away is required but you need clothes you can get wet a spare towel and trainers or sandals to wear in the water – slip on flip flops are not suitable. You also need to bring sun cream (min SPF15) because even if it’s cloudy you are likely to burn during watersports. Mobile phones are not permitted because we can’t guarantee their security on such a large site.
