Summer Camp 2015 Bude, Cornwall

August 16th – 30th

This year’s Summer Camp will be on a farm, next to the canal near Bude.  The site is a field with a tap nearby at the farm, so we will be building a camp site from scratch in the field.  The town of Bude is one mile away and we will be spending time at Summerleaze beach where we have hired beach huts to keep all our equipment.  we will be body boarding in the sea, swimming in the outdoor sea pool, jumping into Tommy’s Pit, beach BBQ’s and getting swimming lessons from the RNLI.

On camp we will be living and cooking in Patrols and doing loads of activities such as football, cricket, raft building volleyball, plus trips out to local attractions.

It will be an action packed two weeks – this may sound a long time but it flies by and Scouts from Y6 up will love it. Summer camp is the main activity of the year – all our activities and training lead up to our camp and to miss it is to miss out.  It’s what being in Scouts is all about.

To book your place, please bring a deposit cheque made payable to 20th Sheffield Scout Group for £50 (write your name on the back of the cheque and the words summer camp). The total cost of camp will be £395.

Answer That! Saturday March 14th

Answer That is big quiz night with a difference – all the rounds are based on your favourite TV games shows and all shown on the giant video screen where you, the audience, take part.  It’s a great night out.

It’s a fun night out with a lot of laughs plus a pie and pea supper.  The emphasis is firmly on a fun but you will want to see your team name at the top of the screen at the end of the evening!  There is a fully licensed bar.

Tickets usually sell out quickly so either come as a couple and make up teams on the night or get your friends together and book a table.  Answer That is open to anyone  - parents, group supporters, friends etc.

Tickets will be on sale soon but save the date now!

For your reading pleasure.

Thank you to everyone who helped out at and attended the 20th Sheffield Scouts Bonfire on 1 November.
It was a great event that was enjoyed by over 600 people.
This was our most successful bonfire event ever and we estimate to have raised around £1,400 for the group.
