Hi Guys,

Unfortunately tonight’s cubs has had to be cancelled, due to the fact I went and got married this weekend, and I am not going to be back in time!

Please can you pass this message on to anyone who might not see this!

Normal service will resume next monday!

I hope you all understand.

Our Membership Secretary is running the Virgin London Marathon

I’m raising money for The Scout Association by taking part in 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon on 26 April. You can sponsor me through my fundraising film.

£353.75 raised to date. Would really like to get to £500.

VirginGiving site.

Thank you, Tim.

Jim Buckley

It is with great sadness we report the passing of Jim Buckley.  Jim was a member of the 20th Sheffield (Ecclesall) Scout Group for over 70 years as a Wolf Cub, Scout, Rover and Leader.

He became Group Scout Leader in 1961, a position he held for over 30 years and on retirement became Honorary GSL and continued to support the Group until ill health prevented him.

It is impossible to say how many young people have had so many opportunities because of Jim’s decades of service.  We will all miss him.

The picture above is the traditional Scout tracking sign which means gone home.

Jim’s funeral will be held at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium on Tuesday 31st March at 10.00am.

Family flowers only, donations to the Woodland Trust – more details will appear here when we have them.

Answer That!

Answer That!  was a huge success on March 14th.  Over 120 people joined in the fun and raised over £800 for the Scout Group which will be spent on camping equipment to support the young people of the Group.

Thank you to everyone who helped out at and attended the 20th Sheffield Scouts Bonfire on 1 November.
It was a great event that was enjoyed by over 600 people.
This was our most successful bonfire event ever and we estimate to have raised around £1,400 for the group.

Harvest Great Bread Bake Off Winners

Congratulations to Ed Maxted, David Ward and Jake Houlton who won the Ecclesall Church first Great Harvest bread break bake off.

Their bread was a harvest sheath baked with rosemary and was enjoyed after the Harvest festival service by all the congregation.
