Lads and Dads Camp : A fantastic weekend for the 15 pairs of Lads and Dads, blessed with some great weather on the Chatsworth estate. We made portable stoves, went caving, drank nettle tea and made mento and coke rockets. Topped off with camp fires and lots of food the camp was great fun and adventure for all. The winners this year were James and Mike Rodgers. If you have more photo’s – please email them so we can share on the website. Big thanks to the EXU members who came and helped cook.
Nick continues his treatment at a specialist rehabilitation centre in Goole. He continues to make some small progress and we are hoping his rehabilitation will continue.
Nick needs more visitors : Please do try to visit Nick – it helps keeps his spirits high and to make sure he does not feel forgotten and to keep him in touch with the outside world and to keep him stimulated. Contact Sian to book a slot : email email@example.com .
Over 100 members of the Group and their families turned out to see Andrew carry the Olympic Torch in Sheffield, cheering and waving flags. Thank you so much – it was simply and amazing experience. We have Photo’s in the gallery and see the video below of our Scout Group. (more…)
The Scout Group is setting up shop in town for two weeks to recruit both new members and adult volunteers to the Scout Association. From this Saturday 10th September, we are taking over one of the shops on Pinstone street currently closed for the Sevenstone redevelopment.
The shop is kitted out to show the types of activities that Scouts do such as climbing, abseiling, surfing and kayaking. Information will be available on how to join in with the Scouting fun. There is also a bouldering wall in the shop for anybody to pop in and have a go plus videos of activities and a message from the Chief Scout, Bear Grylls.

Scouts pack bags at Waitrose to raise over £1000 for MacMillan
Thank you to all the Scouts, Explorers and Leaders who helped with the bag packing at Waitrose to raise over £1000 for McMillan. Much needed money was raised for the charity and also helped the Group in its centenary year activity of community volunteering. We have been complimented by both McMillan and Waitrose on how helpful and well behaved all our young people were – so well done to you all.
The show is over, but our centenary celebrations will continue ! My thanks to all the members of the 20th that took part in the Gang Show. I hope that you enjoyed show week and I am sure that you will treasure the memories for years to come. Well done to you all – Andrew x
