Info for Parents

Congratulations on joining the 20th Sheffield (All Saints) Scout Group & I look forward to the parents taking an active part in this successful Scout Group. Please do get in touch & start with sending us an email so we have your email address.
Volunteering: From time to time we need help with transport, fund raising, painting etc. Please let us know if you can help.

It’s your Group. All that is needed is occasional help at events – the more people we have, the wider we can spread the load !

The Group is run by an Exec Committee of parents and supporters. It is vital that each section has a rep. Please volunteer – it is to help your child ! All the Leaders are unpaid volunteers so they need your help.

Membership and Subscriptions Policies

Please take a moment to read our membership and subscriptions policies, which includes information about our waiting list.

Please note: we only accept people onto our waiting list who are aged 5 years and over.

We encourage all parents to Gift Aid subs which allows the Group to reclaim your tax money from the Inland Revenue.

Uniform
Once you have decided to stay with us, uniform can be bought from the Scout Shop (SGS Outdoors) on Trippet Lane in town (behind West Street). Tell them you are from the 20th Sheffield.  We have a black neckerchief with a yellow border.  You need to buy the uniform before the investiture.

Scout & Explorer Polo Shirts and Hoodys can be bought from your leader, not the Scout Shop.

Communication

Our first choice for distribution of information is via email. Please will you send an email to membership@20th.org.uk so that we get your email address as soon as possible. Please state your name, contact details and your son’s/daughter’s name and date of birth. Please let us know if you change your email address.

It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to your contact details, especially to your email address.

Web Site & OSM

Programmes, letters and other info is available via our web site www.20th.org.uk. Please check the website regularly to see what is happening in this busy and exciting Scout Group.  OSM is your dedicated portal for Scouting.  It shows your progress, future programmes and also it’s where you pay subs and pay for events and activities.

Please contact your leader if you have not got an OSM login.

Church Parade

As part of the church, it is expected that all Scouts will make every effort to attend Church Parade as listed in the programme. Meet at the Scout room 10.45am. Parents are welcome to attend the service also.

Parking

Please do not:

  • park, drop off or wait on the double yellow lines on Ringinglow Road – especially don’t block the entrance. This creates a danger for all trying to cross the road;
  • park or wait in your car in the car park next to the Scout Room. It is not safe to have car movements with so many young people around; or
  • park in front of Ringinglow Road residents’ driveways, because we get complaints and we don’t like complaints!

Why not try walking your child to the meeting?

You are encouraged to come into the Scout Room at the end of meetings to meet the leaders and get further information on events etc. So either walk and come in, or park legally and come in !
